The Optimist

The Hoper of Far Flung Hopes and the Dreamer of Improbable Dreams

Keeping it dead simple - this is a Doctor Who opinion blog. Everything I post is my own opinion, you don't have to agree with it, and it does not necessarily reflect the actual opinions of anyone important. My aim is to suggest new and different ways of thinking about elements of Doctors Who, not to persuade you that my way is the only or best way of thinking about it

Thoughts on the Ending of The Waters of Mars

Writer: Chrisrs123Chrisrs123

Ten has a bad track record for making people feel unimportant sometimes.

For me, he’s trying so hard to be human but his alien nature breaks through in those kind of moments since he’s trying so hard and it culminates in this. Also he learnt how to be human from Rose so that doesn’t help - this is sort of repeating Rose’s mistakes from Father’s Day. I feel like ‘I’ve gone too far’ here is actually him having been too human and forgetting his time lord responsibilities. And human traits like arrogance and pride overruling his compassion.
